<strong>Biology</strong> <strong>30S</strong> <strong>Awareness</strong> <strong>Article</strong> <strong>Project</strong> -- <strong>5%</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>final</strong> <strong>grade</strong>Students are required to research and collect articles, not older than 3 years old, from newspapers,magazines or the Internet that relate to the topics covered in the course. Summaries <strong>of</strong> videos (onlineor DVD's) or television programs are also welcomed. The topics covered in this course all relate toHuman Anatomy and Physiology. Any topic related to the human body, including body systems, bodyparts, diseases <strong>of</strong> the body, chemicals in the body, etcetera, are all suitable topics that you canresearch.One article per week is to be summarized in the students OWN WORDS. Summaries should be at least5U words in length. The following information should be placed on the top <strong>of</strong> the summary page:1.2.3.4.5.SUMMARY #•TITLE <strong>of</strong> ARTICLE:SOURCE info (Full URL required if Internet is the source):DATE <strong>of</strong> SOURCE:DATE you Wrote YOUR Summary:Each Wednesday, you will be expected to show your summary to the teacher. It will be recordedwhether or not you had a summary ready. As well, each Wednesday, a certain # <strong>of</strong> students will beinvited to read their summary to the class. All students must read two summaries by the time the <strong>final</strong>article project is due. The reading requirement is worth 10% <strong>of</strong> the project mark (projects will bemarked out <strong>of</strong> 100).The <strong>final</strong> article project shall consist <strong>of</strong> the following, submitted in a folder <strong>of</strong> some sort (duotang):• A title page• A table <strong>of</strong> contents, listing the TITLES <strong>of</strong> all 10 articles (page numbers are not required)• 10 articles and TYPED summaries, with the summary in front <strong>of</strong> the article• <strong>Article</strong>s clipped from newspapers or magazines should be neatly glued to an 8x11 sheet <strong>of</strong>paper• <strong>Article</strong>s saved from the Internet should not be modified in any way and they should not beimported into a word documentStudents are allowed and encouraged to hand in more than one summary per week, so as to not bepenalized for Wednesdays when they are absent. Wednesdays are the ONLY days when summarieswill be checked. Students absent on a Wednesday will NOT have their summary checked for thatweek.<strong>Project</strong> Due Date:
