Moisture intrusion into masonry orconcrete structures, combined with freeze/thawconditions, can result in severe damage and reducedservice life. MASCOSEAL SILOXANE WB products willprevent water intrusion while allowing the structure tobreathe. The silane/siloxane aqueous blend reactschemically with the substrate to form a hydrophobic bond.This reaction produces a water repellent surface withoutaltering the appearance or texture of the treated surface.USESMASCOSEAL SILOXANE 6 and 12 WB are used onabove grade concrete and other masonry materials thatabsorb water.MASCOSEAL SILOXANE 6 WB is formulated for use ondense surfaces such as brick, pre-cast, pre-stressed,exposed aggregate, poured-in-place and air entrainedconcrete.MASCOSEAL SILOXANE 12 WB is a general purposerepellent for use on horizontal concrete and verticalmaterials such as concrete, brick, sandstone and othermasonry materials that absorb moisture.COMPOSITION AND MATERIALMASCOSEAL SILOXANE 6 and 12 WB are proprietary,aqueous emulsions of siloxane/silane oligomers.SURFACE PREPARATIONCure new concrete and masonry surfaces 28 days beforeapplication. Surface must be clean, dry, open capillary,structurally sound, free of curing or form releasecompounds and other contaminants that will prevent theproper penetration of product. Prior to application, jointsand moving cracks must be properly sealed with anelastomeric joint sealant. Non-moving cracks and voidswider than 1/64 inch (0.4 mm) must be filled with asuitable patching material. Do not apply product to a wetsurface. Surfaces must dry a minimum of 24 hoursfollowing rain or exposure to other sources of moisture.Install caulking before product application. For surfacesthat have had prior coatings or treatments, contactMASONS SUPPLY.MIXING INSTRUCTIONSStir MASCOSEAL SILOXANE WB slowly and thoroughlyusing slow speed mixing equipment before each use. Donot aerate with high speed mixers.APPLICATION TECHNIQUESMinimum ambient and surface temperatures 45°F andrising at time of application. Low pressure airless sprayequipment with a 0.035” tip is the preferred method ofapplication, although brush or roller application isacceptable for smaller areas. Application should be fromthe bottom up to ensure uniform product distribution.Apply a saturation coat with a 6-8” controlled rundown.One saturation coat of MASCOSEAL SILOXANE WB isnormally sufficient for dense surfaces. For poroussurfaces two saturation coats of MASCOSEAL SILOXANEWB may be required, using a “wet on wet” technique. Donot allow first coat to initial dry and develop repellencybefore application of second coat. Distribute materialevenly. Brush out puddles. All product must penetrate thesubstrate with no surface build up.
