Adding a New DeviceSearch for a Bluetooth device and pair with it, to exchangeinformation between your phone and the device.1. From the Home screen, press the Center SelectKey to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔Bluetooth Menu.2. Use the Directional Key to highlight Add NewDevice and press the Center Select Key OK.3. At the prompt “PLACE DEVICE YOU ARE CONNECTING TOIN DISCOVERABLE MODE,” activate the target device’sdiscoverable or visible mode and press the CenterSelect Key OK.4. Your phone searches for discoverable Bluetoothdevices and displays them. Use the Directional Key tohighlight the target device and press the Center SelectKey PAIR. Follow the prompts pair the devices:• Auto Pairing: If Auto Pairing is On in Bluetooth Options, and theselected device supports it, your phone sends a code to thedevice. Confirm that the same code appears on both devices,and follow the prompts on both devices to complete the pairing.• Pairing with Passkey: At the prompt, enter a passkey. Yourphone converts this to a device code and sends it to the targetdevice. Verify that the code is the same on both devices, andfollow the prompts on both devices to complete the pairing.5. After pairing, you can continue to send a name card, acalendar event, or a picture to the newly-paired device.6. You can configure options for the pairing. Use theDirectional Key to highlight the device in the paired list,then press the Right Soft Key Options:• Remove Device: Remove the highlighted device from thepaired list.• Rename Device: Change the name of the device in the list.• Incoming Security: Set the behavior when your devicereceives a request from the paired device. Choose Always Askto have your phone prompt you to accept connections from thisdevice. Choose Always Connect to automatically accept futureconnections from this device.• Service Discovery: View a list of Bluetooth profiles supportedby this device. Press the Center Select Key VIEW for moreinformation.•Device Info: View information about the paired device.Settings 139
