Upper LevelUPPER LEVEL FLOOR PLANSANDELLA’S FLATBREAD CAFÉ WILL BE THE FIRST IN CLEVELAND<strong>Lee</strong> <strong>University</strong> will once again unveil a first diningestablishment in Cleveland, when it opens a Sandella’sFlatbread Café in the new communications building.Sandella’s was founded in 1994 and is today the largest andfastest-growing flatbread concept in the world, with locationsin 26 states and three countries. Sandella’s first offeredupscale sandwiches on baguettes and artisan bread,but in 1996 the centuries-old Middle Eastern flatbread wasintroduced at the restaurant and was so popular that todayall sandwiches feature only their signature brick-ovenbakedflatbread. Other menu items will include wraps,paninis, quesadillas, salads, rice bowls, and more.The <strong>Lee</strong> location of Sandella’s will be the first locationin Cleveland and the second in all of Tennessee. Theonly other location is on the campus of the <strong>University</strong> ofTennessee-Martin in Martin, Tennessee.This is not the first time <strong>Lee</strong> and its food servicesprovider, Sodexo, have debuted an eatery in Cleveland.When the Paul Conn Student Union opened in 2000,the city’s first Chick-fil-A was a tenant of the food court.Two years ago Einstein Bros. Bagels opened a branch inthe Humanities Center, and at the same time, DunkinDonuts was reintroduced to Cleveland with the openingof a space in the Math and Science Building. Dunkin hadclosed the only Cleveland location several years earlier.Completion of the new communications building,as well as a remodeled and updated former First BaptistChurch into Pangle Hall, renovation and repurposing ofthe education wing, and a new concept for the currentparking and grounds, is slated for the fall of 2014.T RCH | SPRING 2013 | www.leeuniversity.edu13
