Nuprid 350SC contains imidacloprid,a chloro-nicotinyl insecticide. Imidaclopridis the world’s most widely used insecticide.Excellent Controlof Sucking Pests:The highly systemic action of Nuprid 350SCallows it to be taken up by the rootsand translocated throughout the plant.Seedling drenches give long residual controlof pests such as aphids. Foliar applicationsare translocated from the upper to thelower leaf surface and to the growingtips. The strong anti-feeding property ofimidacloprid protects the crop from pestestablishment or damage, and reducesthe chance of virus transmission.Crop registration and insects controlled:CROPOnionsOnion ThripINSECTThripsLow Mammalian Toxicity:Nuprid 350SC is rated 6.1D – Harmful under the HSNO classification. It is selectively more toxic to insects than mammals because the nervepathway affected by imidacloprid is more abundant in insects. If Nuprid 350SC is absorbed by animals it is rapidly metabolised and virtuallyall excreted within 24 hours. Nuprid 350SC is non-irritating to eyes and skin.Effects on Other Organisms:Nuprid 350SC has a moderate acute toxicity to birds but may also exhibit ananti-feeding effect. Normal use rates are not expected to harm birds feedingon treated plants.Imidacloprid has low toxicity to fish and earthworms. Nuprid 350SC is toxic to beesand must not be applied to flowering plants if they are likely to be visited by bees.Control of Lettuce Aphid * (Nasonovia ribisnigri)LETTUCE APHIDS / PLANT 7 WEEKS AFTER TREATMENTUntreated 807Drench treatment 20ml per 1000 plants 3*Trial conducted by Crop & Food Research Limited under the MAF Sustainable Farming Fund. Imidaclopridwill control all aphid species that attack lettuce, but will not control other pests such as caterpillars.Vegetable brassicas (cell transplants)Lettuce (cell transplants)AphidsAphidsUnique Mode of Action:Nuprid 350SC is effective as a contact andas a stomach poison. Imidacloprid interfereswith the transmission of stimuli in the insect’snervous system. This leadsto paralysis and eventual death.Due to its unique new mode of action,Nuprid 350SC is effective against insectswhich have developed resistance toconventional insecticides.Healthy onions® Nuprid is a registered trademark of Nufarm Australia Limited.
