During the1937-38 school year, the editors of the KAW yearbookdecided that such items were important to the universityand began to accept suggestions for a design of Mr.Ichabod. The adopted design was drawn byBradbury Thompson (BA ’34).The following explanatory material accompaniedthe first representation of anIchabod in the KAW: “He has courageand enthusiasm as shown by his briskwalk. He is democratic andcourteous, for he tips his hatas he passes. Sincere in hissearch for truth and knowledge,he studiously carries abook under his arm. His friendlysmile makes you like him. He isneatly dressed and he fits well intohis generation … but adoptshimself with equal ease to anychange in life.522004 Media Guide
