WASTE WISE PANELThis year the school’s Waste Wise Panel will be raising awareness of Maui dolphins. Mauidolphins are a dolphin species endemic to New Zealand, but due to large amounts of litter goinginto the ocean and fishing nets their numbers are rapidly declining. What the Waste Wise Panelaim to do this term is raise awareness and educate fellow students on Maui dolphins and what ishappening to them. Then in term two, during the school’s Wises Week we will have games thatfellow students can get involved in and learn about what is actually happening to the Mauidolphins. We will be talking at assemblies about this matter and hope to fundraise money, via ourlitter campaign, to help the Maui dolphins.Waste Wise Panel~Extinction is forever~YEAR 12 BIOLOGY CLASS TRIPOn the 13th to the 15th of March the Year 12 Biology classes went to Goat Island Marine Reserveand Tiritiri Matangi Island for the annual field trip. On the first day we learnt about fish andmolluscs from different parts of the reserve and on the rocky shore at the Goat Island MarineCentre.
