Matt – Business ManMatt is a businessman, in the cateringtrade, and is visiting Bournemouth withtwo colleagues for a conference.He is looking forward to eating out andsocialising as he hasn’t been toBournemouth in years. Before he leaveshe downloads the Bournemouth mapApp on his Smartphone that enables himto search for retail, bars and restaurants.Matt and his collegues arrive by rail atBournemouth station.“We need to get there as quick aspossible, where can we get a taxi from?”A taxi totem catches his eye, they get ataxi to the BIC for his first meeting in halfan hour.Matt remembers key points on the routefrom previous visits, starting to orientatehimself with the help of the appHe uses his app to locate their hotel once theconference at the BIC has finished, beingcurous and with a bit of time to spare, theydecide to wander up to the Triangle as a detouron route to their hotel. They make their wayback to the square, which they know is a keymeeting point.They use the arrival sign at the Square to get agood overview of Bournemouth, they find theirhotel on the map, and head up Richmond Hillto where is is located.“Where shall we go for dinner?”Based on both recommendation from the hoteland the app, they find a restaurant on the appand book a table, deciding to go for dinner ata restaurant on Old Christchurch Road.“Where can we go now?”The app gives them information about whatis open past 11 o’clock. They find a bar andgo for a drink.The next day they use an area sign to walkback up to station, they are happy that thesigns show a short climb up Old ChristchurchRoad but the rest of the journey is flat.Matt thinks he has had a good night andthinks he might return with his family laterin the year for a trip to Bournemouth and theNew Forest.Applied©Detailed design7
