October 1 st, 2011 under National Programmefor Organic Production(NPOP). It has been decided to select a logo for Agency.M.P. State Organic Certification Agency announces an open contestfor finalizing the logo. The winning entry will be awarded a prize money of Rs.25,000/- . Interested individual/ organizations may send their entries both in hardcopy and soft copy in CD/DVD. Please send particulars of installable software usedto prepare the logo along with the entry. Each entry should be accompanied by ashort write up depicting the relevance of logo with the objectives of the Agency. Itshould not be of more than 300 words. Certification generally involves a set of productionstandards for growing, storage, processing, packaging and shipping thatincludes:Avoidance of synthetic chemical inputs (e-g. fertilizer, pesticides,antibiotics, food additives, etc) and genetically modified organisms;Keeping detailed written production and sales records (audit trail)Undergoing periodic on site inspections, verifying the conformity regardingstandards.Purpose of certification :-Organic certification addresses a growing worldwide demand for organicfood. It is intended to assure quality and prevent fraud. For organic producers,certification identifies suppliers of products approved for use in certifiedoperations. For consumers, “certified organic” serves as a product assurance,similar to “low fat”, “100% whole wheat”, or “no artificial preservatives”.Certification is essentially aimed at regulating and facilitating the sale oforganic products to consumers. Individual certification bodies have their ownservice marks, which can act as branding to consumers. ORGANIC CERTIFICATION MARK- INDIA ORGANIC LOGO‣ ORGANIC LOGOA trademark – “India Organic” will be granted on the basis of compliance with theNational Standards for Organic Production (NSOP) communicating the geniuses aswell as the origin of the product, this trademark in owned by the Government ofIndia. Only such exporters, manufactures and processors whose products are dulycertified by the accredited inspection and certification agencies, will be granted thelicense to use of the ‘Logo’ which would be governed by a set of regulations.‣ SPECIFICATIONSThe India Organic ‘Logo’ must comprise of the colour specifications listedbelow:-‣ CONCEPT OF ORGANIC LOGOSymbolizing the rhythm of cosmic and earthforces represented by the blue and brownwaves of force and energy, ‘India Organic’‘Logo’ celebrates the essence of nature.These forces work in harmony upon theearth’s environment and this rhythm isreinforced and supported by the green plantgrowth.
