A man was arrested at6.45pm on the 3 rd of January in a house on South Street after an alarm hadbeen activated. A set of golf clubs were taken from a garage off South Streetbetween 11.45am and 3pm on the 5 th of January. <strong>The</strong> fence round the cricketfield was damaged between the 8 th and 10 th of January. Overnight on the 20 thto 21 st of January 500 litres of diesel was siphoned from a lorry in a park offNewmarket Road after the fuel cap had been prised off. Another vehicle alsohad its fuel cap damaged. Barrow. A lawn mower was taken from a shed offChurch Road between the 21 st of December and January the 8 th . LittleSaxham. Two wheels were taken off some agricultural machinery in a field offHoney Hill between the 18 th and 25 th of January.A Shock First for Illegal Hare Coursers. For the first time in this sector twovehicles that were being used in connection with illegal hare coursing wereseized under Section 19 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. In theirefforts to reduce this sort of crime the police will continue to seize anyvehicles they find involved in illegal hare coursing and apply for destructionorders at court. It is also possible for the driver of such a vehicle to bedisqualified from driving as a result of this sort of offence. This success hascome about as a direst result of timely information being provided bymembers of the general public. Much can be achieved by this sort ofcooperation to keep our <strong>Suffolk</strong> the safest county in England.
