GTS generators in use17 firefighting vehicles for the Bundeswehr(German Forces)For their order of 17 firefighting vehiclesfrom the Bundeswehr, the companyZiegler relies once again on our highperformance GTS generators. For thesevehicles, the protection rating IP 54 is ofparticular importance.Article from the 'wehrwirtschaft 23/2011 of11/14/2011'(g) In mid-2011, the Bundeswehr ordered17 firefighting vehicles and otherequipment from the firefighting supplierZiegler in Giengen. Starting from themiddle of 2012, the vehicles will bedelivered in batches of 3-4 vehicles perdelivery. The vehicles, which will be used asfirefighting vehicles by airport firedepartments of the Bundeswehr, willcomplement the existing fleet of 31vehicles already delivered by Ziegler in2009 and 2010. Supported by a 6x6chassis manufactured by MAN with a 500kW engine and Allison automatictransmission, the 33-ton firefightingvehicle can approach the scene with a topspeed of 130 km/h. It carries 6000 liters ofwater and 600 liters of foaming agent, which can be dispensed on the firesceneat 4,200 l/min. using a 130 kW pump.iMAPLA - InnovationElectronic control procedure ensures higherproductivityMore than 20,000 times the innovative and highperformance magnet plate system iMAPLA hasbeen sold worldwide. The distinctive feature ofthe system is the electronic control system thatenables up to 25% faster loading and unloadingcompared to conventional systems.Magnet plate systems require powerful electriccurrent to build up the magnetic energy. Whethera classic material handler or forklift truck: Thevehicles must be mobile in order to transport, sortor separate magnetic material at scrap yards, recycling facilities or demolition sites. Highperformance and durable generators aretherefore the first prerequisite for the functioningof magnet plate systems. The generators can be connected directly to thedrive motor of the vehicle, to the hydraulic systemof the lifting crane or to a separate drive source inthe form of an external diesel engine. Thanks tothis diversity, "plug and play" solutions arepossible for virtually any application requirement. The technological innovation, however, is theelectronic control system responsible for thebuild-up and release of the magnetic energy.State-of-the-art inverter technology ensures thatthe material can be loaded and unloaded at thetouch of a button –via a "man-machine interface"that obviously meets all ergonomic requirements.iMapla thus operates up to 25 percent faster thanconventional magnet plate systems. The water/foam-gun on the roof of thevehicle can eject up to 2,400 l/min. of fireextinguishingmedium to a maximumdistance of 65 meters while the foam isproportioned by an automatic meteringsystem (EAD). In addition, otherfirefighting equipment is carried in thevehicle, for example dry chemicalextinguishers, CO 2 extinguishing systemsand rapid intervention equipment. Just likethe self-protection system with its frontand floor nozzles, these systems can beremote controlled from the crewcompartment and/or pump compartment.A Hatz GTS diesel generator that supplies23 kVA at 400/230 V is used to supplyelectrical energy at the scene. It allows

the use of a light pole that can illuminatethe scene with two 1,000 W halide lampsfrom a height of 6 meters. The company szenaris GmbH has beenordered to create the training anddocumentation materials. Szenariscreates training programs for vehicleoperators/drivers and develops theinteractive, electronic, technicaldocumentation (IETD). The delivery of thetraining programs and IETD to theBundeswehr is scheduled for June 2012.www. If you wish to change your data, you don’t want to receive the Newsletter any more oryou havegot suggestions, please click on the links below.→Abmelden/Sign off →Ummelden/Change your address →Empfehlen/Recommend →Kontakt/ContactImpressumGenerator.Technik.Systeme.
