General | NEWSAnnual Seminar in Pathology Highly SuccessfulThe Nineteenth Annual Seminarin Pathology, sponsored by UnitedHospital Center, is highly successfulin raising funds for local charities.This year, 225 pathologists attendedthe annual event. It was held at theSheraton Statton Square Hotel inPittsburgh on April 26 thru 29, 2012.Participants came from around thecountry, including Alaska, California,Michigan, Washington, Texas,Minnesota, Iowa, New York, NewJersey, Wisconsin, Florida, Northand South Carolina, Wyoming,Massachusetls, Tennessee, Kentucky,Alabama, Missouri, Colorado, Illinois,Rhode Island, <strong>Virginia</strong>, Maryland,Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wyoming,Delaware and <strong>West</strong> <strong>Virginia</strong>. Someattendees came from Australia,Canada and Quater. The annualseminar was rated by the attendeesas excellent. The purpose for theseminar is to provide continuingmedical education for physicians,which is one of the requirements forrenewing all state licenses in the U.S.One participant commented“this conference has proven to bean excellent learning experience.The lectures provide usefulinformation on issues that comeup every day in the practice ofgeneral pathology.” Some of theproceeds will go to local charities.This seminar was organizedand directed by Chinmay K. Data,<strong>MD</strong>, PhD, Chief Pathologist atthe United Hospital Center. BruceC.
