Among itsmembers are international stars such asRoger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Ken Rosewalland Wayne Ferreira.<strong>The</strong> ICSA certainly embraces the aim andpurpose of the club in promoting tennisaround the world and supporting youthdevelopment in tennis.1. AGM and DINNER/DANCEAfter the AGM on Friday 21 May 2010 awonderful evening with good food and winewas enjoyed by all at the Old Edwardiansclub. After dinner, everyone had great fundancing to the music of our own Grand Slamduo IC members, Mike Pilot and TerryRosenberg.Keith and Pam Diepraam were the guests ofhonour, and Keith entertained us with aninteresting address. We were also pleased tohave three other Springboks with us and wethank Gordon Forbes, Abe Segal and Rene(Uys) Plant for attending.Our thanks to Leonie Grondel for organisingthis event with help from Lorna Krog, andmany thanks to our two musicians Mike andTerry.Leonie, Doug, Lorna and Terrey enjoyingthemselves after the AGM2. CAPE TOWN DINNEROn Sunday 7 March 2010 the ICSA hosted adinner at the Marimba restaurant in CapeTown for all our Cape members and thoseplaying in the Nationals. Over 100 membersand their partners attended this mostenjoyable function. Birgitte Hostrup from ICDenmark and Peter Soetters and his wifefrom IC Netherlands also attended thedinner. . European TourJean Hubert is putting together a tripto Europe in April/May 2011, visitingcities such Barcelona, Andorra, MonteCarlo, Geneva, Paris, Brussels, andperhaps Amsterdam. Details for thisexciting tour can be obtained fromJean : jbhmcc@mweb.co.za.6. IC JUNIOR CHALLENGE 2011ICSA has been asked to organise thistournament for Under 16 players whichwill take place in the latter part of 2011,with the winners participating in thefinals in 2012. Sponsorship for this eventhas been secured from <strong>The</strong> CompassGroup and will continue for six years from2011 – 2016. Details of this event will beavailable nearer the time.9. AMERICAN VISIT – January 2011A group of IC members from the USA areplanning a visit to <strong>South</strong> <strong>Africa</strong> in January2011. Matches will be arranged for themin Jo’burg, Durban and Cape Town.10. GENERALa. Congratulations to Doug Hillen, ourChairman, for being elected to theExecutive Committee to represent the<strong>Africa</strong>n continent at the ExecutiveCouncil.b. <strong>The</strong> IC Council has developed a newwebsite: www.ictennis.net. Thiswebsite incorporates all the IC’sworldwide, so why not check it out.7. YOUTH OLYMPICS – for your infoThis event is being held in Singapore 14-26 August 2010 and tennis is one of 26sports in the Youth Olympic Games.IC Singapore would be pleased towelcome any of our members attendingthe event and if there are sufficientnumbers they may consider organising amini event for IC members.Mike Pilot and Terry Rosenberg making sweetmusic at the AGM dinner/dance8. YOUTH DEVELOPMENTAs mentioned at the AGM by LeonieGrondel, ICSA has put forward twoproposals to the IC Council in London forconsideration.
