I am excitedto create lasting memories with myfellow graduates, I am eager to exploremy passions, and, above all,I am thrilled to serve as Head Girl.Q: Why did you want to becomea student leader?I wanted to become a student leader becauseI enjoy being creative and comingup with new ideas and initiatives. Beinga student leader involves hard workand dedication, qualities that, whenpracticed, make one a better person.Q: What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?As cheesy as it may sound, Iwant to make a difference in thelives of Crofties, and leave a lastinglegacy here at the school. Asa student leader, I hope to createa comfortable and supportingatmosphere that will bringthe community closer together.Q: What are your favoriteCHS traditions?There are small traditions withinthe school that I have grown to appreciate,simply because they createa strong sense of togetherness andcommunity. These include the crispuniforms we sport and the schoolsongs we sing during assemblies.<strong>Crofton</strong> has also always held independenceat a high standard, somethingI think is an incredibly importantlife skill. Courtesy, Honour, andService are values that I will liveby for the rest of my life becauseof my education at this school.Candice ChanQ: What are you most lookingforward to this year?Since it’s my final year at <strong>Crofton</strong>,I’m really looking forward toimmersing myself in all the activitiesand clubs I haven’t triedyet. As a prefect I get tohelp plan every assembly, and I havehad so much fun making different videos,dances, songs etc. for the couple ofassemblies we have had already. I alsoKathleen MckeownQ: What are you most lookingforward to this year?To be completely honest... gradperks! Finally getting our own jackets,sweaters and staircase has been,well, worth the wait. I’m also excitedto have the best year of all my yearsat <strong>Crofton</strong> and make the most outof it without succumbing to stress!Q: What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?Since my portfolio is Health & Wellness,I’d like to introduce initiatives toencourage students to better take careof themselves. I would like to bring inyoga and/or meditation sessions duringfree periods to lower stress levels,because we all know how stressfulschool can be. I’d also like to continuethe tradition of the Wellness Assemblybecause it has had a significant impacton students in the last few years.Q: What are your favouriteCHS traditions?I love all <strong>Crofton</strong> traditions, fromthe carol service to the birthday celebration.However, I have to say thatthe goodbye assembly put on by thegrade elevens for the grads is alwaysa tearjerker - it’s such a meaningfuland unforgettable way to say farewell.I’m excited for ours, but I’mdreading it too. I just know I’m goingto bawl through the whole thing.Aidan CrawfordQ: What are you most lookingforward to this year?I am really looking forward to workingwith the executive team, teachers,grade 12s, and the rest of the schoolthis year. We all have lots of newideas that we are bringing forwardand we are really striving to makethis school year a memorable one.Q: Why did you want to becomea student leader?I wanted to become a student leaderbecause I really wanted to representthe school. I have been at <strong>Crofton</strong>since grade 1 and when I got intothe senior school I strongly admiredthe prefects. I enjoy acting as a rolemodel for the rest of the school, andI love sharing my ideas with everyone.I think I make a positive contributionto the team and I love theenvironment I get to work in. Wehave so much fun together and althoughit’s a lot of work I enjoy itand am so happy I got this position.Q: What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?I would like to leave a memorable andpositive impact on the school. I hopethat the rest of the school can lookup to us, the student council reps.,and not be afraid to ask us a questionor share an idea with us. I know thatwe all want this year to be a fun oneJoanna TungQ: What are you most lookingforward to this year?I’m most looking forward to graduating,of course, and also playing my lastseason with the senior basketball team!Q: Why did you want to becomea student leader?I wanted to become a student leader becauseI’ve been at <strong>Crofton</strong> since grade1 and I’ve always looked up to the prefects.I was an activity captain last year,so I thought it’d be a really cool experienceto try a new leadership position.Q: What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?My goal for this year as a studentleader is to come up with small ideas,such as lazy lunch Wednesdays, thatcan really let students relieve theirstress and enjoy their time at school!Q: What are your favouriteCHS traditions?My favourite CHS traditions aredefinitely the welcome back barbecueand the teacher assembly!


Sarah CarterQ: Why did you want to becomea student leader?To be honest it was because I wanted towear a sash. No, I wanted to be a leaderbecause I really care about <strong>Crofton</strong> andwanted to have the opportunity to havemy voice heard in decisions being madeand when organizing schools events.Q: What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?A few of my goals are one, to createa bigger sense of community,not only within each grade groupbut also amongst older and youngergrades. As well, I want to make <strong>Crofton</strong>a place where girls can be completelycomfortable as themselvesand want to strive to be their best.Q: What are your favouriteCHS traditions?My favourite CHS traditions arethe Carol Service, Sports Days,and the Teachers’ Assembly.Mona EstakiQ: What are you most lookingforward to this year?I’m really looking forward to goingon the grade 11/12 OE trip- I hadsuch an amazing time last year! I’mexcited to get to know more of thegrade 11s and spend some qualitytime with the rest of the class of <strong>2013</strong>.Q: Why did you want to becomea student leader?I applied for a leadership positionbecause I felt like I had goodideas to bring forward to the school.I thought it would be a good challenge,yet also lots of fun andmake me a more balanced person.Q: What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?I am hoping to make the school afriendly and open environment for allstudents. More importantly, I want tomake sure everyone has lots of fun andis involved with the activities going on.Nicola HurstQ. What are you most lookingforward to this year?I am most looking forward to experiencingall the firsts and lasts I willshare with my grade. Specifically, theconvenience of the grad staircase, sittingfront row or on chairs in assemblies,adding ties to the uniform etc.More importantly, I am looking forwardto working as a prefect and helpingto plan some great school activities.Q. What are your goals forthis year as a student leader?My goal as a student leader is to unitethe student body in hopes of eliminatinga lot of the problems that we faceas students and girls. I really wantevery single girl to walk into <strong>Crofton</strong>every day and feel comfortable and athome. I think we can do this by buildingstronger bonds between the gradesand addressing some of the key issues.
