MaricopaRoad, Maricopa, AZ 85139; and the <strong>Ak</strong>-<strong>Chin</strong> Multi-Purpose Justice Complexlocated at 45525 W. However, the <strong>Ak</strong>-<strong>Chin</strong> <strong>Indian</strong> <strong>Community</strong>, at its discretion, maypostpone said action for such time as the <strong>Community</strong> Council designates. MiguelCongresswoman Ann Kirkpatrickwho represents the counties of Coconino,Apache, Navajo, Graham and Greenlee,recently made a stop in <strong>Ak</strong>-<strong>Chin</strong>.Before meeting with <strong>Ak</strong>-<strong>Chin</strong>Tribal Council Members; ChairmanLouis Manuel, Jr., Councilman TerryEnos, and Councilwoman Delia Carlyle,Congresswoman Kirkpatrick was ableto tour UltraStar with Council andUltraStar Manager Adam Saks.The first stop was movie theatreswhere the Congresswoman was able toview first hand the variety of theatresUltraStar had to offer such as a VIProom and 21 and over area.Before entering Grill 347,Congresswoman Kirkpatrick was ableto taste ice cream at the Corner Cafe.Other areas of interest forKirkpatrick were the Urban Arena LaserTag, 10 Pins Down bowling alley, andthe Lux Lounge.Of special interest was the DBoxseat in the main lounge which had theCongresswoman get a firsthand feel ofthe motion chairs that are available.Children will become safer,healthier, and more productivecitizens on September 21st, 2013Saturday, September 21st, 2013, is the sixth annual “Kids Day Maricopa”.The event promotes Health, Safety, and Environmental Awareness. Dr JohnA. Donohue will be hosting and coordinating the event from 10:00 am until4:00 pm at Maricopa Wells Middle School 45012 West Honeycutt Ave. TheMayor has signed a proclamation dedicating the 3 rd Sat of Sept. as “KidsDay” in the city of Maricopa. Representative Steve Smith, Mayor ChristianPrice, Supervisor Tony Smith, County Attorney Lando Voyles and SheriffPaul Babeu will be in attendance and speaking at the event.Ashlea Anderson, Yolanda Miranda, Cesselea Thepkaisone and AnnaliseManuel get their dance moves on at the Back to School Bash.The event will provide essential information on crime prevention, child safety,and environmental awareness. The Maricopa Police Department will be onhand to provide FREE fingerprinting of all the children along with bringingPolice cars, Police motorcycles and the Sheriff’s K-9 Dog Unit. Additionally,there will be special appearances by “Smokey Bear”, McGruff the Crime Dogand other loved fire and crime characters.The Maricopa Fire Department is bringing a fire truck and the safety house.They will teach fire safety tips. <strong>Ak</strong>-<strong>Chin</strong> Fire will provide car seat safetychecks. Southwest Ambulance will be teaching water safety. Dr. John A.Donohue will provide FREE health screenings, and will be distributing vitalinformation on disease prevention and health promotion. In addition, therewill be Bicycle safety, Drug Awareness with the M.A.S.H. coalition and theCounty Attorney’s Office, Internet safety with Judge Sulley, Healthy Eatingand Exercise will be taught.
