Boonsboro HistoryThe town of Boonsboro, located in WashingtonCounty, was founded in 1791 by brothers Georgeand William Boone (cousins of the famous DanielBoone). The town grew over the years becauseof the National Pike and today consists ofapproximately 3,200 residents.Boonsboro Elementary School is located in thetown’s Educational Complex. The middle andhigh school buildings are also part of thecomplex situated on over 95 acres.Boonsboro Elementary School was originallybuilt in 1950 and included 12 classrooms, akindergarten room, small library, and a multipurposeroom. In 1992, a new addition wascompleted which included eight new classrooms,four special area rooms, and officespace.
