Of the country’sexpenditure, 48 percent was contributed by development partners (international or externalsupport), or around 810 million pesos ($17.9 million). A recorded 27 percent has been spentthrough the private sector, or 451 million pesos ($10 million) mainly from DKT Internationaland Levi Strauss Foundation. A significant decrease in spending wasobserved among international sources primarily because of the closure of two grants of theGlobal Fund (i.e. Rounds 3 and 5) in 2010. However, three-fold increase in HIV expenditure ofboth the private and the public (Government) sector were recorded from 2009 to 2011, whichkept the total annual expenditure above 500 million pesos.FIGURE 3.2AIDS Spending by Source, 2009-2011, Philippines2012 Global AIDS Response Progress Report 20
