That may account forthe good news I’ve been hearing from club owners. They tellme their games are picking up and not just from the snowbirds.Word is that the number of tables in play is up fromthe same time last year. What wonderful news. With thisnews, remember to welcome players to your table, be a graciousopponent as well as a good partner. Most of all,remember bridge is a game that is meant to be enjoyed byall players.Once again, it is time for our annual election of our Boardof Directors. If ballots have not arrived at your club, they willany day now. As you can see from the ballot in this issue,we especially need people from Osceola County. We alsoneed another person from Seminole County. Sometimespeople ask me why we do certain things or how we come tocertain decisions. When I’m asked these questions, I usuallysuggest they run for a board position. We know you havegood ideas and we would love to hear them. The best wayto have your voice heard is to be on the board and have yourcounty represented. Often people ask if there is politickingin the Unit Board. So far, there is none. Our goal is to promotebridge, not to control others; hence, we get together,share ideas and put those ideas into action. Those of usserving really enjoy what we do.
