This process has been in focus mediainterest. In a lot of daily newspapers (Panorama,Korrieri, Metropol, Shekulli), has been publisheddifferent articles (information, interviews) basedon this argument. During May-June around 5000persons deprived from liberty has applied for IDcard equipment on guarantied of constitutionalright of vote. It has been realized based on anagreement between General Directorate ofPrisons and ALEAT (Concessionaire firmcontracted from Albanian government for IDproduce process). It has been started from Tiranaand on first week of June from GeneralDirectorate prison has been communicated that:- has been finalized the first phase(application)- Suspension of transferring of personsdeprived from liberty for 40 days (end of election).METROPOL / 18.05.2009;PANORAMA / 02.04.2009;PANORAMA/ 15.05.2009;METROPOL/ 13.04.200977
A REVIEW ON THE PREVALENCE OF TORTURE IN PLACES OF DETENTIONSMaterial Conditions of institutionsLiving conditions of women in pre-detentioninstitution “Jordan Misja” Street, has been onfocus of media based on an inspection report ofOmbudsman and Civil Society pronunciations.On these articles described the general situationspecifically in women sector (unique sector in allthe system) which has problems of moisture,presence of mouse, terrible conditions of toilets.From state authorities this situation has beenjustified on old and amortization infrastructureand promise to intervene on improvement of thisproblem. From Ombudsman and Civil Society hasbeen proposed building of new pre-detentioninstitution in Tirana as the only mode to resolvethis problem heredities from the past.Media has published a report of OmbudsmanInspectors in some Police Station (Erseke, Peqin,Devoll) which criticize the situation. Specificallyaccompaniment ambient as terrible conditionsand lack of special ambient for women andminors.
