All of Maurice Veronda’s brothers andsisters taught at this school, and their father,“Grampy” Veronda, helped to build ourschool buildings and lived until his death inthe tower he built.Kenneth Veronda was born at <strong>Southwestern</strong>,attended the ten grades offered at thisschool then, and studied at Stan<strong>for</strong>dUniversity and in Spain and Italy. Heworked with the United States <strong>for</strong>eignservice in Europe be<strong>for</strong>e taking over<strong>Southwestern</strong>’s operations when his fatherdied.Claire Veronda, Maurice’s spouse andKenneth’s mother, lived in the family’shome alongside campus until her death inFebruary <strong>1997</strong>. The family’s home is nowcalled "Veronda Place," and houses offices<strong>for</strong> admissions, alumni, and the CONFAByearbooks.Now YOU are part of this <strong>Southwestern</strong>heritage.
