Using a floor jackWorkshop activity sheet5. Position the jackRoll the jack under the vehicle,and make sure the pad, or saddle,is positioned correctly under theframe or cross member.6. Check position of the jackTurn the valve on the top of thejack handle clockwise, and beginpumping the handle up and downuntil the jack pad touches andbegins to lift the vehicle.Once the wheels lift off the floor,stop and check the placement ofthe jack pad under the vehicle tomake sure there’s no danger ofslipping.Double check the position of thewheel blocks to make sure theyhaven’t moved.If the vehicle is stable, continuelifting it until it’s at the heightwhere you can safely work under it.© 2005 DVP Licensing Pty Ltd page 4
