Silent Auction Rules
1. Each item on the Silent Auction Tables has a bid sheet attached to a table nearby. Persons
desiring to bid may do so by writing in their bid number and the amount on the sheet.
2. Each new bid must be written on the next blank line on the bid sheet. Silent auction bids will
be disqualified if the minimum raise is not sufficient.
3. An authorized person may disqualify your bid if you are blocking the bidder’s table prior to the
closing of the booth.
4. The Silent Auction booths will be open for bidding at 5:30 and will stagger closings until 9:40.
Closing times for each section are listed in the catalog and will be announced during the
evening. Only an authorized official may nullify a bid, and the closing bid circled by the
official constitutes the winning bid.
5. Under no circumstance may a bid sheet be removed from the table.
6. In the event of a dispute, the auction official shall determine the winning bidder. In the event
that two bidders are in the process of bidding on the same item when the official attempts to
circle the winning bid, the official may conduct a mini live auction between those two bidders.
The official shall determine the winning bidder, and his/her decision shall be final.
7. Bidders can determine if they had winning bids by checking the bid sheets left on the table.
Gift items can be picked up at the booth by presenting paid receipts.
8. Any bidder not making arrangements for payment in full on the night of the auction may forfeit
his right to purchase the item.
9. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year from
the date of the auction.
10. Values set forth are donor’s estimates only and are not warranted for tax purposes or for
general value. All sales are final and no exchanges or refund will be honored unless
specifically indicated
11. By his or her purchase, the buyer waives any claim for liability against either All Saints Parish
or the donor of the property or services, and neither All Saints Parish nor the donor is
responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from utilization of
property or services sold.

Only the amount in excess of the fair market value for a gift item purchased at the auction is tax
deductible for federal income tax purposes. In all cases, consult your tax advisor.
