SAT Preparation ClassFor SAT tests offered in Winter 2012Sponsored by the GPHS and SHS Parent ClubsThe GPHS and SHS Parent Clubs are offering an 8-hour <strong>class</strong> (2 half-day sessions) to helpstudents prepare for this important test. This <strong>class</strong> will provide students with an understanding ofthe test <strong>form</strong>at and content, as well as basic strategies the students can use to determine whatthey need to study and how to improve their scores.The cost of the <strong>class</strong> is $65, which is substantially lower than the cost of comparable workshopsoffered by corporate test <strong>preparation</strong> agencies. Pre-<strong>registration</strong> and pre-payment are required. Norefunds will be issued after the <strong>registration</strong> deadline unless the <strong>class</strong> is cancelled due toinsufficient enrollment, or because of absences caused by personal emergencies. Profits from the<strong>class</strong> will be returned to the GPHS and SHS students in the <strong>form</strong> of Parent Club contributions tothe high schools for projects, programs, equipment and supplies.The <strong>class</strong> is offered over two Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. February 25, 2012 andMarch 3, 2012. Classes will be taught by Megan Hutchison and Casey Clinch, Snohomish<strong>School</strong> District teachers. The <strong>class</strong> location is TBD.Students should plan to arrive 15 minutes early, and bring two No. 2 pencils, picture ID, paperfor taking notes, an SAT approved calculator, and The Official SAT Study Guide by CollegeBoard 2 nd Edition SAT ISBN-13:978-0-87447-852-5 and ISBN-10:0-87447-852-9 (Available atBarnes and Noble and on-line). Be sure to check the website www.collegeboard.com forcomplete rules and regulations regarding SAT <strong>registration</strong> and test policies and calculatorspecifications. Snacks will be provided. The <strong>class</strong> will be filledon a first-come-first-served basis, except that priority will be given to GPHS and SHS studentsuntil 2 weeks prior to the test, when <strong>registration</strong> will be open to students from outside the district.You will receive <strong>registration</strong> confirmation by e-mail approximately 1 week prior to the <strong>class</strong>start date, as soon as we know if there are enough students registered to take the <strong>class</strong>, or youwill be notified that the <strong>class</strong> has been cancelled for lack of participation.
