Update on 5 th AMCDRR – <strong>UN</strong> RCO• The Fifth Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk <strong>Red</strong>uction (AMCDRR) will be cohostedby BNPB in collaboration with ISDR from 22-25 October in Jogjakarta. Theconference is themed “Strengthening Local Capacity in DRR”. The conference is anopportunity for governments and stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to the HyogoFramework for Action, and to build resilient communities by sharing lessons learned,good practices and ideas. BNPB is responsible for the invitations.• The conference will involve three high level round tables and three technical sessions, aswell as proposed special sessions. There will also be: side events for which 33 proposalshave so far been received, with a registration deadline of 30 July; a film festival, for whichthe secretariat has received six proposals, with a registration deadline of 15 September;a field and cultural visit; and, a Market Place for which 7 of the 30 planned booths arereserved for Indonesia and the deadline for registration is 30 July.• The website for the conference is: www.5thamcdrr-indonesia.net6. AOB• Disaster Resource Partnership aired a short informational clip and emphasized continuedstrengthening of the partnership between the humanitarian community and private sectorentities involved in humanitarian action.• Humanitarian Forum Indonesia briefed on a recent workshop that discussed the role andchallenges of “non-structural” humanitarian actors. About 70 participants from 11organizations participated in the workshop. Please contact Hening Parlan(hening.hfi@gmail.com) for further details about the workshop.• OCHA reminded members of the review workshop on BNPB/BPBD ContingencyPlanning Exercise, scheduled for 30 July at the Borobodur Hotel in Jakarta.
