LastNovember Andrew was invitedto exhibit his project at the ICTEducation Show in November asa guest contributor to the Designand Technology Association’s standhaving earlier won a British ScienceAssociation Crest Award whichrequires more than 100 hours ofproject time linked with mentorsfrom industry such as Transdev.Now 18 years old and studying foran MEng in Electronic Engineeringat Southampton University, Andrewtopped his efforts in the 2011Science and Engineering Competitionfinals at the Big Bang Fair in Marchwith the senior level engineeringprize after being shortlisted withfive other candidates in a ‘Dragons’Den’ style presentation playoff toa celebrity judging panel. As theUK’s new Young Engineer of theAndrew Cowan collects his awardat the National Science andEngineering CompetitionYear Andrew will be an ambassadorfor engineering throughout theUK, encouraging and inspiringyoung people to pursue a careerin engineering.
