Leading International Trade Fair
for Service Station and Car Wash
Despite the cancellation of the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA), the first
Automechanika was held in Frankfurt 40 years ago, on 18 September 1971,
and the service-station and car-wash sector has met regularly in Frankfurt
every two years since then.
At the last Automechanika, around 155,000 trade visitors saw a variety of car
washes and the latest car-care products ‘in action’. Around 80 percent of all
visitors, half of them from outside Germany, said they were very satisfied to
satisfied with the range of products and services at Automechanika 2010.
The subject of electro-mobility will continue to gain significance in 2012.
For the first time energy providers, e.g. EON, have announced their participation
in Automechanika. No other event covers the entire value chain so
completely from original equipment, conversions and vehicle and shop
accessories to waste disposal and recycling. However, it is not only fillingstation
operators who need to rethink their position. Thus, the main themes
at the coming Automechanika in Frankfurt from 11 to 16 September 2012
will also include public and private re-charging infrastructure, the demands
on dealership and workshop equipment and training.

Prime position
On the large outdoor area right next
to the “Portalhaus” entrance you’ll
find manufacturers of gantry, in-bay
and tunnel Car Wash facilities as well
as washing chemicals. What‘s more,
the adjacent Hall 10.0 offers great
solutions for filling stations (e.g.
fuel billing systems, filling station
planning, construction and equipment,
refuelling systems for alternative
fuels, security surveillance
and outdoor advertising). The offer
is rounded off in Hall 9.1 with its
comprehensive range of lubricants
and vehicle care products.

The first Automechanika in 1971 attracted around 500 exhibitors and 75,000 visitors from 63 countries
to Frankfurt.
