In this Pauri, Satguru has described the various kinds of low persons engaged inall kinds of degrading occupations. When describing such persons, naturally a veryinsidious egoism enters the heart of the writer.To save us from falling into this huge pit, the great Satguru Nanak calls himself,the lowest of the low, as a remarkable sign of his humility, an uplifting example for us.There are countless names of the Divine Reality. There are countless places(worlds), which are beyond the reach of human understanding. His creation is so vast,and immense that anyone who limits their number to thousands of billions, has to bear thesin of telling what is far beyond the truth; on his head. It is through the spoken languagethat we give Him various names and meditate on them. It is by means of spoken wordsthat we sing His praise. It is through words that we realize Him. Mind revels in Hisglory and bursts forth in spontaneous praise – Wah. Thou art limitless and glorious, andgreat beyond the power of human speech. It is through words that we put into writing allthat is spoken. The impression of all Karmas good or bad, which regulates our comingtogether, and being separated, is also given on each human being’s forehead in the shapeof letters. He who through His Eternal Divine Law puts these impressions on the humanforehead is beyond the reach of words. He is self-existent and self-creative. The wholeUniverse is governed by His immutable Law, and is the outcome of a spoken word. Hisname pervades all space in its immensity. His realization is the only place of rest andpeace for mankind.I have no the power to give a full description of His nature. All that I can do is tolose myself in ecstasy and thanksgiving, and be a sacrifice to Him in thought, word anddeed; thus keep myself ever resigned to His will. Thou art an everlasting Reality, the
