Principal Accountabilities:1. Responsible for developing services and opportunities for income generation throughthe Centre;2. Building business throughout the Anglia region, including through our joint ventures;enhancing relationships with our regional partners;3. Ensuring that students with disabilities are competently assessed when they choose touse AAC for that purpose;4. Maintaining adequate records of assessments and ensuring that enquiries fromstudents and all relevant agencies are handled in a timely fashion;5. Ensuring that staff are adequately appraised of new developments in ICT and otheraspects of assistance/adaptations relevant to students with a full range of disabilities;6. Recruiting and facilitating the training of new assessors, whether employed by ourUniversity or by other organisations;7. Attempting to meet quality standards laid down by government and other agencies;8. Ensuring the availability of relevant statistics relating to the Centre;9. Enabling invoice preparation in connection with the Centre’s activities;10. Exploring new possibilities for both business and other activities relevant to ourUniversity;11. Reviewing potential threats to the core business of the centre12. Initiating change where it is required;13. Monitoring and evaluating all existing activities and new developments;14. Consulting and reporting to line managers in the Office of <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong>;15. Belonging to a team of managers dedicated to providing more effective services forstudents with disabilities;16. Such other duties temporarily or on a continuing basis, as may reasonably be required,commensurate with your grade.This is a description of the job as it is presently constituted. It is normal practice to reviewperiodically job descriptions to ensure that they are relevant to the job currently beingperformed, and to incorporate any changes which have occurred or are being proposed. <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Affairs</strong>Anglia Assessment Centre (AAC) ManagerConditions of ServiceThe terms and conditions of employment are the responsibility of the Board of Governors.These details are for broad information only and must not be taken as a complete orauthoritative statement. In no way do they constitute a contract of employment.(a)SalaryGrade 7, £40,335 - £46,758 per annum paid monthly in arrears by credit transfer.Commencing salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience.(b)Hours and Time of DutyThe normal hours of work are 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at times asagreed with the Head of Department. If the nature of the work so requires, thejobholder may from time to time be required to attend meetings or do other workoutside normal hours. Remuneration for overtime is not/may be payable.(c)HolidayThe holiday year runs from 1 September to 31 August. In addition to the StatutoryBank Holidays, local discretionary holidays, and days when we are closed in theinterests of efficiency, annual holiday entitlement will be 26 days. If employmentcommences part way through the holiday year, entitlement will accrue on a pro ratabasis for each complete calendar month. Holiday entitlements for part-time staff willbe calculated according to the number of days and/or hours worked.(d)MedicalUnless otherwise stated, the appointment will be subject to medical clearance.(e)PensionThe jobholder will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.(f)Normal Retirement AgeWe operate a retirement age of 65.(g)Probationary PeriodThe first 6 months of the appointment will be a probationary period during which yoursuitability for the position to which you have been appointed will be assessed. Wereserve the right to extend your probationary period if, in its opinion, circumstances sorequire.
