Company Director Mark Tomasini and Managing DirectorMauro Mattarucco embarked on a significant project to improve the environmentalsustainability of their printing business. <strong>The</strong>ir aim was to create a culture ofenvironmental awareness amongst employees, clients and suppliers, to improve t<strong>here</strong>putation of the print industry for poor environmental practices by educating andsupporting all consumers of paper and print, and to aim to be a leader in the printindustry by ensuring all staff adopted 100 per cent commitment to this project.<strong>The</strong> business uses the most modern and effective technology available to reducecarbon emissions, eliminate the release of toxins and pollutants, significantly reducewater and energy usage and use sustainable energy sources. Since developing thisprogramme, dedicated to reducing its environmental impact, Print Bound has cut itsenergy consumption by 40 per cent, replaced 80 per cent of ink tins with recyclablecartons, and cut the use of air pollutants from 12 per cent to five per cent.
