Charles St. TheatreThe project was driven by a main concept of bringing in the unique street conditions surrounding thelong, narrow site to establish a ritualistic procession. From the busy bustle of the street, the theatregoerwraps around to the quieter sides of the site and eventually arrives into the inner theatre core. This processionis wrapped by a wooden screen, which highlights the timeless relevance of theatrical play asallegories of our condition through shadow play and consciousness of actions.Structural framing members create rhythm along the procession and allude the bands of programmingoccurring inside the core.
