Tradition and Know-how
for more than 100 years
In 1904 with a simple hand-drawn suspension-
cart, Swiss emigrant Franz Josef Küchler
established his own company in Düsseldorf,
Franz J. Küchler. With growing demands he
was able to purchase his first horse shortly
after the companies foundation.
Franz Josef Küchler’s business steadily grew
until the beginning of World War I when the war
time economic crisis hit his business too. With
a new and improved business plan Franz Josef
Küchler was able to over come the post war
difficulties and started a successful second
beginning.

In 1925 his son Franz joined the company and brouhgt with him modern innovations. He
purchased the first automobiles which replaced the classically used horse drawn moving carts.
The expansion of the moving business was continous during these years. Long distance moves
were executed with special railway moving wagons and moving goods for overseas transports
were packed in wooden lift vans for shipping. In 1936 Franz Josef Küchler purchased his first
owned premises in Düsseldorf.
During World War II Franz Josef Küchler and his wife Traudel left Düsseldorf to establish a
branch location in Suhl/Thüringen. Son Franz looked after the business in Düsseldorf. After the
war everyone was involved in the refoundation of the company. In 1944 Franz J. Küchler OHG
was established.
During the post-war years Franz Küchler devoted himself primarily to the building up of national
federations. He was one of the founders of the “Verband des Verkehrsgewerbes Nordrhein”
(Federation of Transport Business of the Rhine area), as well as an initiator of the KRAVAG in
surance company in Hamburg and the Straßenverkehrsgenossenschaft Nordrhein (Cooperation
of the road transport business). Expanding his business worldwide was one of the reasons for
joining FIDI in 1954. This federation of international moving companies ensures the organization
and execution of international relocation.
The positive development of the companies’ business led to the opening of a branch location
in Dormagen-Nievenhein where handling and warehousing of new furniture was organized. At
this time about 40 trucks were operating.
In 1980 KÜCHLER Transporte GmbH was established out of the Franz J. Küchler OHG. Two years
later KÜCHLER joined confern, a German cooperation of German and European moving
companies who plan and coordinate long distance moves within Germany.
Today KÜCHLER concentrates predominantly on its main business: national and international
moves for private customers and corporate accounts, on warehousing of furniture and since
1997 on archive and record storage.

During the planning phase of your move one of our competent employees will visit you
personally at your home or office and provide you with a detailed quotation as well as the
necessary information for a successful move. Of course the appropriate packing materials will
also be placed at your disposal. The organization and delivery of your move will be carried out
by our well-trained staff using modern equipped furniture moving vans.
Special means of transport are used for our Business customers. We offer filing cartons,
cartons for hanging register-files as well as lockable barred rolling cabinets and rolling
security boxes, which secure your records against unauthorized access. For the transport of
your computers we use special EDP-tabs securing and protecting your possession under
optimum conditions.

largest furniture moving service organization of independent enterprises in
Germany and Europe we ensure you a controlled transport.
Confern coordinates national and international moves via their centralized
communication system. Further focal points of confern are their centralized
purchase of packing material and other goods as well as marketing
activities and the attendance of corporate accounts.

Besides the organization of an uncomplicated and secured transport of
your goods we also offer an extensive range of other services. We deliver
in advance and pick up afterwards all necessary packing and wrapping
material and organize the removal of debris and used furniture.
We arrange for you your electrician, plumber, carpenter or cleaning
services. We organize the transportation of your car or motorbicycle within
Germany and abroad and we organize the shredding of your records after
the rules of data protection.

antique furniture or vehicles. We coordinate wrapping and packing for air or seafreight and we

Since 2003 we are certified by FAIM (FIDI Accredited International Mover). If you request either
the transport of your goods only to the port of destination or inland terminal or if you request
full destination service (door to door service), we possess the needed knowledge of specific

Piano- and grand piano transports
We are experts in transporting delicate instruments. Together with our
qualified staff and with our well equipped fleet we carry out daily safe
transports of large instruments like grand or upright pianos without
difficulties.
Archive and record storage
In our logistic centres we store, archive and administer records, files and
all kinds of business documents. EDP-steered, systematically filed and
permanently controlled through our trained staff.
Furniture storage
If not all of your furniture fits in your new home, if your new home abroad
has less space or if you just need a place for storage in transit we can offer
you our facilities for the storage of your belongings. We can store your
possessions wrapped and packed in locked, secured storage cabins,
protected against theft and all influence of weather. You determine the
period of storage.
Insurance
We offer appropriate insurance for your belongings and valuables which we
transport or store for you. The transport insurance covers worldwide the
risks of your moving, more extensive then the liability insurance provided
by German law.
Relocation service
A very special service we offer our corporate accounts is the organization
of relocation service agencies. These agencies can take over all bureaucratical
and organizational tasks during the international transfer of
personnel so that specified and managing staff can concentrate directly on
their projects.
