We recommend priming these surfaceswith <strong>Wattyl</strong> <strong>MasterPrep</strong> Primer Sealer <strong>Undercoat</strong>• Ensure surface is clean and dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, formwork release agents and curing compounds.All loose, peeling or flaking material must be removed. Uneven surfaces should be sanded smooth with fineabrasive paper and all dust removed. Fill holes and cracks with a suitable filler and sand lightly to an even finish.• If mould is present, clean surface with household bleach then rinse well with clean water.• Ensure all new cementitious substrates are fully cured prior to painting. Typically this may take a minimum of 4-6weeks. Efflorescence (white salts) must be removed prior to painting. There must be less than 15% moisturecontent in the surface at the time of application.• Test soundness of previously painted surfaces by cutting a small X in the paint with a sharp blade. Stick a piece oftape firmly over the X and pull off. If the paint pulls away the surface is unsound. Repeat at random in a number ofareas. Unsound surfaces should be stripped for best results.• Application should not be carried out if the air temperature or the substrate temperature is below 10 o C or above35 o C or when the humidity is greater than 85%. Sprayed surfaces must be back rolled.Use a quality brush or roller.• Primed surfaces should be painted within 4 weeks. If longer than 4 weeks we recommend sanding back and repriming.• Bare timber Exterior including treated or previously oil stained timber – Apply one (1) coat of <strong>Wattyl</strong><strong>MasterPrep</strong> Timber Primer to correctly prepared surface.• Previously painted with oil based paint – Apply one coat (1) of <strong>Wattyl</strong> <strong>MasterPrep</strong> <strong>Multi</strong>-<strong>Purpose</strong> <strong>Undercoat</strong> tocorrectly prepared surface.SAFETY DATA• Caution FlammableProvide adequate ventilation during use.• Spills and Disposal Do not allow spilt material to enter drains or other watercourses. Absorb spills with sand orother inert material. Unwanted paint should be kept in a sealed container, such as an emptypaint can, and disposed of via special waste collection services. Check with your localCouncil regarding the disposal of empty paint containers.• M.S.D.S. A Material Safety Data Sheet (M.S.D.S.) is available on request.• First Aid:If swallowed do not induce vomiting. Give plenty of water to drink. Contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre.Phone 0800 764766 (New Zealand).If in eyes, hold eyes open and flood with water for at least 15 minutes.
