The hospital opened in 1954 as Community Memorial Hospital, but for most of its existence it was operated byBenedictine sisters from St. Joseph, MN, and was known as Queen of Peace Hospital. In 2011, the hospital became part ofthe Mayo Clinic Health System. It serves patients from many surrounding communities, and its medical staff includes familyphysicians from the area, as well as specialists from the Twin Cities and Mayo hospitals in Mankato and Rochester who cometo <strong>New</strong> <strong>Prague</strong> to see patients.
