Which qualifications will lead to Associate membership?If you’ve successfully completed one of the following qualifications you’ll automatically achieve Associatemembership from 31 January 2014, providing your membership is current.CIPD Advanced-level qualificationsAdvanced Diploma in Human Resource DevelopmentAdvanced Diploma in Human Resource ManagementAdvanced Certificate in Human ResourcesPostgraduate Diploma in Personnel and Development (CIPD Professional Development Scheme (PDS)) 1Postgraduate Certificate in Personnel and Development (CIPD Professional Development Scheme (PDS)) 1Equivalent postgraduate-level university qualifications approved by the CIPDCIPD Intermediate-level qualificationsIntermediate Diploma in Human Resource ManagementIntermediate Diploma in Human Resource DevelopmentIntermediate Certificate in Human Resource ManagementIntermediate Certificate in Human Resource DevelopmentEquivalent undergraduate-level university qualifications approved by the CIPDCIPD Foundation-level qualificationsFoundation Diploma in Human Resources Practice (QCF)Foundation Diploma in Learning and Development Practice (QCF)Foundation Certificate in Human Resource Practice (QCF)Foundation Certificate in Learning and Development Practice (QCF)Certificate in Training Practice (CTP) 2Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP) 2Equivalent university qualifications approved by the CIPD1 In accordance with the Ofqual conditions of recognition, we’re only permitted to award the Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate (forexample, the CIPD Professional Development Scheme (PDS)) until 31 December 2013.2 The Certificate in Training Practice (CTP) and Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP) have been phased out.
The following qualifications will not lead to Associate membership:• Advanced Award in Human Resources• Intermediate Award in Human Resources• Foundation Award in Human Resource Essentials• Foundation Award in Learning and Development Essentials• Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring (CCM)• Certificate in Employment Relations, Law and Practice (CERLAP)• Certificate in Recruitment and Selection (CRS).If you’re unsure about which qualification you’re studying or have studied, please contact your study centre orcall us on +44 (0)20 8612 6208.I’ve successfully completed or I’m currently studying a…CIPD Foundation Diploma or Certificate, orequivalent university qualification that has beenapproved by the CIPD.CIPD Intermediate Diploma or Certificate, orequivalent university qualification that has beenapproved by the CIPD.If you’ve already completed your qualification orcomplete before 30 January 2014, you’ll remain aStudent member until you’re awarded Associatemembership on 31 January 2014.You’ll automatically be awarded Associatemembership if you successfully complete yourqualification from 31 January 2014.CIPD Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel andDevelopment (Professional Development Scheme(PDS)).CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human ResourceManagement or Human Resource Development,or an equivalent university qualification that hasbeen approved by the CIPD.On successful completion of your qualification you’llbe awarded Graduate membership until 31 January2014. After this date, on successful completionyou’ll be awarded Associate membership.Please note that the Graduate grade ofmembership will be removed from our membershipstructure on 1 July 2014. If you’re a Graduatemember at this point, you’ll be automaticallytransferred to Associate membership. You cantransfer to Associate free of charge before 1 July2014 by simply calling us on +44 (0) 20 8612 6208or you can apply to become a Chartered Member orChartered Fellow, subject to your level of experience.For more information, visit cipd.co.uk/statusIf you’re studying a Postgraduate Diploma inPersonnel and Development (CIPD ProfessionalDevelopment Scheme (PDS)), we’ll need yourresults from your study centre by 31 December 2013to award you your CIPD qualification. If we receiveyour results after this date, we’ll be unable to awardyou your CIPD qualification, but you’ll still be eligiblefor the relevant grade of CIPD membership.
