These tools provide the following benefits:◆ Our Powdered Metal substrates have finer carbide particle size and a more uniform distributionthan standard HSS/Cobalt substrates.◆ The tools have improved grindability, a feature that provides less chance of damage duringthe manufacturing and re-grind cycles and more uniform cutting edges that result in betterfinishes on the machined parts.◆ The tools have increased toughness, a feature that provides greater resistance to edge chippingand tool breaking resulting in longer tool life and higher cutting feeds and speeds.◆ The powder process allows higher alloy content in the substrates. This feature allowsdifferent grades that provide very high red hardness.
