Task 1Military Briefing (English Version)On 15-28 September next year, around 1,500 Territorial Army soldiers will be taking part inthe year’s largest Army Logistic Training Exercise. Before deploying on 17 September for the two-week exercise, the soldiers, will all arrive inthe town of Grantham in Lincolnshire throughout the week to be issued with their kit andequipment.Training is at the heart of Territorial Army life. This exercise has taken a year to plan andaims to provide an opportunity for service personnel to test their wide-range of skills. Soldierswill be involved in many different aspects of logistics, including road and rail transport, catering, postal services, building and operating a bulk fuel installation, engineering andconstruction tasks, movement control, the operation of field showers and laundry facilities.A mixed fleet of 150 military vehicles including Landrovers and Harley Davidson motorcycles will be involved in the exercise, when the soldiers will transport thousands of tonnes ofsimulated materials across a large part of Britain.Keeping the Army supplied and on the move is a vital job. It is important therefore that theTerritorial Army test their skills in order to be able to deliver an efficient, organised andtimely service when and if called upon. Many of our soldiers have served tours of Iraq and Afghanistan and it is training exerciseslike this that ensure our soldiers are well trained and ready to deploy on future operations.
