Thousands of eligibleimprovements qualify, includingheating and air conditioningsystems, solar technology, newwindows and roofs, and manymore. To celebrate the expansion,Ygrene is offeringfree applications, a $50value, through the month ofNovember using the promocodes “UPGRADEYOLO” and“UPGRADESAC.”“We are pleased to offerthis program to our residentsand businesses, without taxpayerexpense,” said Phil Serna,Sacramento County Supervisor.“Ygrene’s financing enables usto provide 100 percent financingfor energy retrofits to propertyowners, create thousands of jobs, boost property values and helpachieve Sacramento’s goal ofreducing energy use 15 percentby 2020 – that’s a triple-win thatbenefits the entire region.”Ygrene’s financing is apowerful alternative to traditionaldebt financing options. The financing is bound to theproperty rather than the individualor business and can transferwith a change in ownership inthe same fashion as a propertytax. Eligibility is based primarilyon property value and equity(a minimum of 15 percent isrequired) rather than creditscore. To date, the company hasreceived nearly 200 applicationsin the City of Sacramentoalone, valued at more than $45million in potential buildingimprovements. Dozens of localcommercial and residential propertyowners are already usingYgrene financing for propertyupgrades, including the largestcommercial PACE project in thenation, a $3.16 million upgradeof the Metro Center office parkin Natomas scheduled for completionin December.“Many Yolo residents havesignificant equity in their propertiesbut not the substantialupfront funds typically requiredto make clean energy and waterconservation improvements,”said Mike McGowan, YoloCounty Supervisor and BoardVice Chair. “This program allowsthose owners to upgrade withoutthe upfront costs and withouttaking on traditional debt.“The Sacramento and Yolocounty boards of supervisorsvoted unanimously Tuesday toenact the program for all unincorporatedareas. Most cities– including Citrus Heights, ElkGrove, Galt, Isleton, RanchoCordova, Sacramento, Davis,West Sacramento, Winters andWoodland – have either already“opted in,” or are expected to inthe coming weeks.”We’re thrilled to be expandingfurther in the region so moreproperty owners have accessto the financing they need toupgrade their buildings,” saidStacey Lawson, CEO of YgreneEnergy Fund. “We’re seeing alot of pent up demand from folkswho didn’t have access to capitalto make these improvementsbefore — the financing was themissing piece.”About Ygrene Energy FundYgrene Energy Fund isthe leading developer andadministrator of clean energyfinancing programs throughoutthe U.S. Over the next fiveyears, Ygrene’s Clean EnergyDistricts are projected to createtens of thousands of local jobs, invest hundreds of millions intolocal economies and drive massivereductions in greenhousegasses.
