Eligibility is based primarilyon property value and equity(a minimum of 15 percent isrequired) rather than creditscore. To date, the company hasreceived nearly 200 applicationsin the City of Sacramentoalone, valued at more than $45million in potential buildingimprovements. Dozens of localcommercial and residential propertyowners are already usingYgrene financing for propertyupgrades, including the largestcommercial PACE project in thenation, a $3.16 million upgradeof the Metro Center office parkin Natomas scheduled for completionin December.“Many Yolo residents havesignificant equity in their propertiesbut not the substantialupfront funds typically requiredto make clean energy and waterconservation improvements,”said Mike McGowan, YoloCounty Supervisor and BoardVice Chair. “This program allowsthose owners to upgrade withoutthe upfront costs and withouttaking on traditional debt.“The Sacramento and Yolocounty boards of supervisorsvoted unanimously Tuesday toenact the program for all unincorporatedareas.
