Dendrobium “Prof A Abraham” registered by ICAR, New Delhi, Government of India.Published several popular articles in the field of ethnomedicine. I am currentlysupervising ten Ph. D students, two were awarded. I had also supervised dissertations of36 B. Sc, M. Sc, M.Pharm and M. Phil students on various aspects of ethnopharmacology.I am Fellow and Joint Secretary of National Society of Ethnopharmacology, India. I wasshortlisted for DBT Young Woman Bio Scientist Award in 2000 and Fellow of NationalAcademy of Sciences, Allahabad during 2010 and 2011.thOn 9 June 2011, I was appointed as Director of JNTBGRI and am continuing till date.This has increased my responsibilities by way of supervising developmental activitiesmeticulously, besides pursuing my own line of research.The novel programmes I initiated at JNTBGRI, will go a long way to benefit studentsand the society at large since they fall in to the conservation and sustainable utilizationcategory, like the outreach programmes for school students on plant wonders andinsectivorous plants, sale of compost produced at the Institute etc.24. MiscellaneousI have been actively involved in several extension activities of the Division and theInstitute till date. I have guided the M. Sc/ M. Phil /B. Tech/ M.Pharm projects of morethan thirty six students. I have taken part in organizing several seminars / conferenceshosted by the Institute and the KSCSTE. As Member Secretary of Plan ProjectsEvaluation Group (PPEG) of TBGRI, I have helped to prepare Plan Budget proposalsand compile the monthly research components of the various Divisions for KSCSTE. Icompered the proceedings of Kerala Science Congress, 2003, 2005 and 2008 at Thrissurand Trivandrum. I have attended meetings of Research Guides for improvement ofquality of research at Kerala and Kannur Universities (2007). I was the member of theCommittee that prepared the syllabus of the newly started M. Sc. Phytochemical Scienceand Technology course of M. G. University, (2006). I have been supervising theactivities of Art and Photography Unit of TBGRI (2006 onwards). I have been the ChiefGuest at the Annual Day Celebrations of Darsana English Medium High School, Palode(2004) and the Science Society of Government Higher secondary school, Kummil in2006. I also function as one of the Editors of TBGRI Annual Report (2002 onwards) andhave contributed to the TBGRI Brochure, TBGRI Vision and Mission Document andcompilation of list of Ph. D scholars of TBGRI, in my capacity as Chairperson,Publication Committee of TBGRI. I also function as the Secretary Convenor, TBGRIResearch Council (2006 onwards). I have given lectures on PlantTissue Culture at IqbalCollege, Peringammala in 1991 and St. John's College, Anchal in 1992 and HigherSecondary School Venjaramoodu, 2010. As Chairperson, Women's Committee of
TBGRI, I have attended to such matters and reported to Director. I was the TBGRI StaffClub Secretary from 1994-1996. I have won prizes for flower arrangement, shot put,sack race and other games at the Annual Day Celebrations of TBGRI during 1992, 1994and 1996 and the Woman Championship during 1992, I have won prizes for flowerarrangement and have functioned as a Judge at the Rose Day Celebrations (Cut flowers)in 1995. I was the Co ordinator of the orchid cultivation training programme for womenfunded by STEC during March 1991. I was one of the Resource persons for the CAPARTtraining programme at TBGRI during 1992, 1993 (flowercraft), and the Bala SasthraCongress organised by KSSP during 2008 & 2010.25.
