<strong>AUTONOMOUS</strong> <strong>GAMMA</strong> <strong>STATION</strong> <strong>AGS421S</strong>/F/M<br />
The Autonomous Gamma Station AGS421 is the GSM (optional GPRS) version within our series of autonomous gamma dose rate<br />
monitoring stations which combine gamma measurement capability with data logging capability as well as autonomous operation due<br />
to solar power supply and wireless data transmission. Data communication between AGS421 and Network Monitoring Centre (NMC)<br />
uses cellular networks which are nowadays available everywhere.<br />
Two models are available: <strong>AGS421S</strong> for stationary use is designed for fixed installation and unlimited operation, which is achieved by<br />
the solar panel and a back-up battery. AGS421M is the mobile version which is quickly deployable for temporary use of up to 20-days<br />
of battery operation. Thereby AGS421 negating the need for an external AC power and for a wired data communication connection.<br />
This independence from any wire connection eases the installation and permits the detector location to be changed as necessary.<br />
This high-sensitivity probe for measuring gamma dose rates consists of three Geiger–Muller (GM) detectors and an integrated,<br />
microprocessor-based evaluation unit for calculating, storing and transmitting the measured dose rates and system data to the<br />
Network Monitoring Centre (NMC). The use of the two low dose rate detectors (LD) allows detection of minor changes in the radiation<br />
level at background values with short measurement cycles. The third detector (HD) is for measurement at higher dose rates (>100<br />
µSv/h [>10 mrem/h]). The use of two low dose rate detectors also enables a higher reliability through the redundancy and increased<br />
detection sensitivity. Hermetically sealed detector housing protects the electronics and detectors from external conditions.<br />
AGS421 is equipped with RS-232 interface for service and maintenance purposes on site. Additionally, self-diagnosis of the batterybuffered<br />
solar power supply and other important technical parameters is carried out cyclically (self-supervision). Rain sensor and GPS<br />
receiver are available as options.<br />
