Meeting participants primarily enjoyedriding for fitness and conditioning and recreation. A significant number <strong>of</strong> meeting participants were bicyclecommuters, riding to work as well as for errands. The <strong>City</strong> records collision data on an ongoing basis. A three-year collision summary is shown below(see Table 3.4). The data shows bicycle collisions occurring within the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rancho</strong> <strong>Cordova</strong> betweenJanuary 2006 and December 2008. Although none <strong>of</strong> the accidents involved a fatality, 64 <strong>of</strong> the 78 totalaccidents did involve some form <strong>of</strong> injury.MASTER PLAN ▪ 3-3
