About the CastGrant AlexanderThe ABC's of Broadway marks Grant's second summer musical revue atSCT and his third mainstage show. He was last seen on the SCT stage inlast season’s opener, the comedy Leading Ladies, as the dimwitted“Butch.” Grant is also an active performer on the Mississippi StateUniversity campus, where, in addition to pursuing his B.A. in English, he isa member of the MSU Show Choir, Blitz, and an active participant inTheatre MSU productions, having appeared in recent productions of TheApple Tree, Anything To Declare, and Little Shop of Horrors. Grant wouldlike to thank his fellow "students" for being an absolute joy to work withand Alison for giving him the opportunity to come and play with the SCTplayers once again! And, as a point of clarification, in case there should beany doubt, Grant does indeed wear underwear every day, 365 days a year.“Enjoy the show!”Ruby BrennerRuby is a Starkville native about to enter her senior year as a music educationmajor at MSU with an emphasis in voice. Ruby has been in MSU’s ConcertChoir and Chamber Singers for the last three years and has a fabulous job atMSU’s Wildlife and Fisheries Department. The ABC’s of Broadway isRuby’s first performance on the SCT stage, and she would like to thank thecast and crew for making her feel like part of the family. Ruby has met a lotof wonderful people and has had a blast preparing for the show!John BrocatoJohn could not be more excited to be in his first SCT summer revue. Herecently appeared in his first SCT show ever, the wholly fantastic Ug! TheCaveman Musical, and he fully intends on appearing in many, many moreduring the years to come. John appeared in numerous productions while hewas an undergraduate at MSU, including Look Homeward, Angel;Rhinoceros; Foxfire; and Terra Nova. He has also been a musician since theage of 7, and, in addition to performing/writing/recording as a solo artist,he’s a member of at least four rock bands: the Persians, Skeleton Crew, theTuffskinz, and the Doomsters. During the day, John works in the BagleyCollege of Engineering helping engineering students improve their writingand speaking skills. Most importantly, he loves sharing life with hisawesome wife, Kay, his awesome kids, Bailey, Vinny, and Sicily, and hisawesome dachshund, Glad. John thanks everyone involved with The ABC’sof Broadway for their hard work and for making this such a fun andrewarding experience.
About the CastMatt CraneThe ABC’s of Broadway marks Matt's third summer musical revue atSCT. Matt is a senior theatre major at Mississippi State and has beeninvolved in their productions of The Little Shop of Horrors, Anything toDeclare, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Emperor's New Clothes, andRabbit Hole. Here at SCT, Matt worked backstage for Catfish Moonduring its run at the AACT national competition and has been a part the2008 and 2009 summer revues, Company, The Complete Works ofWilliam Shakespeare [Abridged], and most recently Ug! The CavemanMusical. "Big thank-you to Alison, Bonnie, Bruce, the Band, Carole,Pattye, Lyle, Sue, and everyone else who made this possible. Also, tothe cast, you have been amazing to work with."MJ EtuaMJ, a senior, is one of the original members of the Glee Club. Aftergraduation she plans to attend Princeton University, where she has beenoffered a Glee Club scholarship and an Artistic Roller Skatingscholarship. MJ is also a member of the USA Roller Sports 2010 Juniorand Senior Figure Skating Word Team. Next semester she will competeat the 2010 Pan American Championships in Rosario, Argentina, andthe 2010 Roller Figure World Championships in Portimao,Portugal. She has a gold and two silver medals from the2009 World Artistic Roller Skating Championships held inFreiburg, Germany. Her hobbies are reading, watching oldmovie musicals, roller-skating, and retro culture. MJ’sfavorite quote is “A million lights are dancing, and thereyou are, a shooting star!”Blake GarrettBlake is ecstatic to be appearing in his second productionwith Starkville Community Theatre! He is very thankfulfor the amazing friends he has found in his SCT cast mates and excitedfor everyone to see all of the hard work that has gone into The A, B, C’sof Broadway. Blake thanks Alison Stamps for allowing him to be a partof this amazing production! He has been dancing and singing sincebefore he can remember and appreciates all the support and love fromhis family and friends for letting him let his freak flag fly.
