Oakwell Brewery<br />

<strong>Barnsley</strong>, South Yorkshire<br />

Old Tom Mild 3.4% abv<br />

This dark mild is exported from <strong>Barnsley</strong> and is<br />

available throughout Britain, very rarely seen<br />

around <strong>Barnsley</strong> though. Enjoy.<br />

<strong>Barnsley</strong> Bitter 3.8% abv<br />

A nut brown coloured bitter with a roasty malt<br />

aroma. Dry, hoppy and roast malt flavour with<br />

a bitter finish.<br />

Salamander Brewery<br />

Bradford, West Yorkshire<br />

Salamander 3.8% abv<br />

A new session beer from this brewery. It is<br />

possible that the name <strong>of</strong> the beer will change<br />

as we go to print.<br />

Golden Salamander 4.5% abv<br />

Citrus hops characterise the aroma and taste<br />

<strong>of</strong> this premium beer, which has malt<br />

undertones throughout. The aftertaste is dry,<br />

hoppy and bitter.<br />

Blackthorn Ale 4.4% abv<br />

Blackthorn is a beautiful light golden ale with<br />

wonderful grapefruit and lemon aromas. This<br />

fruity brew benefits from an excellent medium<br />

body and biting bitterness to the finish.<br />

Jaipur IPA 5.9% abv<br />

Complex, well-balanced with a fine blend <strong>of</strong><br />

citrus and other fruit flavours, mixed with a<br />

slight sweetness and ending with a lingering<br />

bitter finish. Hoppy and dangerously drinkable.<br />

Drop Hammer 4.3% abv<br />

This is a new mid-brown ale from the Sheffield<br />

brewery.<br />

Black Mass 6.6% abv<br />

A strong black stout, quite bitter and dry but full<br />

flavoured with characteristic hop aroma.<br />

This Champion Bitter Beer <strong>of</strong> Britain (Silver) is<br />

brewed using finest quality Maris Otter malt and<br />

English hops. Chestnut in colour, well rounded<br />

and rich flavour with a lasting bitter finish.<br />

Silver Star 4% abv<br />

A festival special produced for <strong>Barnsley</strong> Beer<br />

Festival.<br />

Darkness 4.2% abv<br />

Aromatic roast malts give a deep red colour and<br />

Fuggles hops give a mild bitterness and aroma.<br />

<strong>Barnsley</strong> Gold 4.3% abv<br />

<strong>CAMRA</strong> Champion Beer <strong>of</strong> Britain Finalist 2004<br />

and Champion beer <strong>of</strong> Rotherham Oakwood<br />

Festival 2004. This golden beer has good<br />

bitterness levels, with a fresh citrus and hop<br />

aroma.<br />

Old Moor Porter 4.4% abv<br />

A full bodied Victorian style chocolate porter<br />

with hints <strong>of</strong> liquorice. The initial bitterness gives<br />

way to smooth, mellow finish. Last years<br />

champion beer <strong>of</strong> the festival winner.<br />

IPA 5.0% abv<br />

Traditional India Pale Ale dominated by fruit and<br />

hops, light golden in colour with a flowery<br />

aroma.<br />

Gorlovka Imperial Stout 6% abv<br />

Named after the Ukrainian twin town <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>Barnsley</strong>, this brew is a deep ebony coloured<br />

imperial stout with bags <strong>of</strong> malt, spicy hop<br />

bitterness and a fruity dry finale.<br />
