Chief Justice Robert French ACRobert Shenton French was appointedChief Justice of the High Court of Australiain September 2008. At the time of his appointmenthe was a judge of the FederalCourt of Australia, having been appointedto that office in November 1986.He graduated from the University ofWestern Australia in science and law. Hewas admitted in 1972 and practised as abarrister and solicitor in Western Australiauntil 1983 when he went to the IndependentBar. From 1994 to 1998 he was Presidentof the National Native Title Tribunal. Atthe time of his appointment he was anadditional member of the Supreme Courtof the <strong>Australian</strong> Capital Territory and amember of the Supreme Court of Fiji. Hewas also a Deputy President of the <strong>Australian</strong>Competition Tribunal and a part-timemember of the <strong>Australian</strong> Law ReformCommission. From 2001 to January 2005 hewas president of the <strong>Australian</strong> Associationof Constitutional Law.Chief Justice French was appointed aCompanion in the General Division of theOrder of Australia in January 2010 and isthe sixth High Court Judge to have attendedand presented at the <strong>Conference</strong> since ourfirst in Athens in 1988.Professor Richard Larkins AORichard Larkins is an Emeritus Professor,Monash University. He was Vice-Chancellorand President of Monash Universityfrom September 2003 to July 2009. Priorto his appointment at Monash Universityhe was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine,Dentistry and Health Sciences at theUniversity of Melbourne from 1998 to 2003having served as Professor of Medicine atthe University of Melbourne.His clinical and research interests arein diabetes, endocrinology and generalmedicine. He has held a vast number ofsignificant roles throughout his professionalcareer including Chair of UniversitiesAustralia, Chair of the National Healthand <strong>Medical</strong> Research Council of Australia,Presidency of both the Royal AustralasianCollege of Physicians, and the EndocrineSociety of Australia. Provision of ServicesThe services provided on, at or in respect of theconference (“<strong>Conference</strong> and Tour Services”)including all transportation, accommodation, toursand other services relating thereto are providedby independent carriers and other principals.<strong>Greek</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Legal</strong> & <strong>Medical</strong><strong>Conference</strong> (ABN 32006640651) and 212F TravelPty Ltd (ABN 46 113 418 143) act only in thecapacity of agent for the principals. A user of anyconference and tour service’s (passenger’s) contractfor conference and tour services is directly withthe principal(s) who provide the particular service.Accordingly the <strong>Greek</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>International</strong><strong>Legal</strong> & <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> and 212F TravelPty Ltd shall under no circumstances be liable tothe passenger for any claim whatsoever shouldthe standard of conference and tour services bebelow the expectations of the passenger or not asdescribed in any literature pertaining to the conferenceand tour services.Bookings and PaymentsThe <strong>Greek</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Legal</strong> &<strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> and 212F Travel Pty Ltd arenot obliged to accept any booking or make anyreservation/arrangement with the principals andno contract exists between the passenger and theprincipals until 212F Travel Pty Ltd have receivedthe required deposit, completed reservation formand confirmed the travel arrangements in writingto the passenger. However by payment of moniesto 212F Travel Pty Ltd the passenger authorisesand directs 212F Travel Pty Ltd at any time after ithas received such monies to disburse them or anypart thereof as it sees fit, as permitted by law, for orin respect of the conference and tour services to beprovided to the passenger by principals includingfees payable to the principals.Change of Price and Travel CostsAll prices and costs have been negotiated,where possible, on 2011 rates; however as the<strong>Greek</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Legal</strong> & <strong>Medical</strong><strong>Conference</strong> and/or 212F Travel Pty Ltd act onlyas agents of the principal(s), they cannot guaranteethat no increases will occur. In the event of anyfluctuations in charges including or occasioned by(without limiting the same) exchange rates, airfares,taxes, and other conference and tour servicecosts the total cost of the travel and conferencearrangements may be increased without notice.The passenger agrees to pay such increase prior todeparture from Australia or at such other time asmaybe demanded. <strong>Greek</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>International</strong><strong>Legal</strong> & <strong>Medical</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> and/or 212F TravelPty Ltd will use their best endeavours to ensure thatthe travel arrangements are available as shown inthis brochure but shall not be liable in any way whatso ever if a particular travel arrangement cannot bearranged or is cancelled or of for any reason a passengercannot be accepted. Since the travel, conferenceand tour services are provided by principal(s),itinerary and prices may change after final paymentor departure. Allcancellation fees charged to the <strong>Conference</strong> by thirdparty providers in relation to a cancelled bookingwill be charged to the relevant delegate in full. Inaddition to all and any third party charges, thefollowing fees will be charged for all cancellations:Registration and any associated bookings: morethan 90 days before departure $500 pp; within90 days of departure $1000 pp; less than 60 daysbefore departure 100% of booked cost pp. Pre orpost conference tours: on or before 11th February2011 50% tour cost pp; after 11th February, 2011100% of tour cost pp.All cancellations must be made in writing.
