Rev 15:2 -4 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and themthat had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over hismark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having theharps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and thesong of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord GodAlmighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. Who shall not fearthee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nationsshall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.The above verses in the book of Revelation clearly establishes that there ismusic in heaven. The harps of God will be heard. Not the harps of Jubal, noteven the harps of David but rather the harps of God will be heard. Three setsof people are mentioned as having harps: the twenty-four elders, the hundredand forty-four thousand, and those who got victory over the beast. Thisencompasses the entirety of the elect of God. We shall all have harps ofGod!The redeemed will sing the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb to theaccompaniment of the harps of God. It is noteworthy that there is no hint ofpercussion instruments in heaven. It is the sweet, pleasant tones of the harpsof God that will blend in with the voices of God’s elect.In the presence of God there will be no cacophony, no discordant sounds, nomusic that elevates self. The music of the redeemed and all the host ofheaven will fill the heavenly air as praise and worship ascends to God. Suchmusic can hardly be imagined as we abide on this earth for it belongs to theheavenly realm.Believers in Christ Jesus may freely copy, use and distribute this sermon.
