Malach’s ‐ <strong>The</strong> Actors’Chapel in <strong>the</strong> heart <strong>of</strong> New York City’s <strong>The</strong>ater District and Time Square.One <strong>of</strong> his earliest memories as an aspiring organist was experimenting with <strong>the</strong>sounds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> organ in a reverberant, large English Gothic church in Butler, Pennsylvania.This kind <strong>of</strong> experience inspired him to study not only music, but also history, cultureand spirituality. <strong>The</strong>se formative high school years included master classes atYoungstown <strong>St</strong>ate University, a choir tour <strong>of</strong> Italy, and an AFS foreign exchange programin Germany. With <strong>the</strong> tremendous support <strong>of</strong> his family and teachers, he pursueda career as a church and concert musician.His teachers have included David Higgs, Eastman School <strong>of</strong> Music; Janette Fishell,East Carolina University; Ronald Doiron, Duquesne University; and Ronald Gould,Youngstown <strong>St</strong>ate University. During his college years he traveled as much as possibletrying to see <strong>the</strong> world through <strong>the</strong> eyes <strong>of</strong> music. Some <strong>of</strong> Mark’s most memorable tripsinclude visits to <strong>St</strong>. Sernin in Toulouse, Maria Magdalena Church in <strong>St</strong>ockholm, <strong>St</strong>. Vitus<strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> in Prague, Thomaskirche in Leipzig, Chichester <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong>, Sacre Coeur inParis, <strong>St</strong>. Bavo in Haarlem, Örgryte Parish in Göteborg, Peterskirche in Vienna, ShanghaiOriental Art Centre and <strong>the</strong> Sydney Opera House.Mark has performed as soloist and accompanist domestically and abroad. As prizewinner from <strong>the</strong> Oundle International Young Organists’ Academy in Great Britain, Markperformed recitals at <strong>St</strong>. Paul’s <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> (London), Chichester <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> (West Sussex)and <strong>St</strong>. Mary’s <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> (Edinburgh Fringe Festival). O<strong>the</strong>r performances include <strong>the</strong>Artisten in Göteborg, Sweden, <strong>St</strong>. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, <strong>the</strong> <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>St</strong>.Patrick in New York, <strong>the</strong> Poulenc ‘Concerto for Organ, <strong>St</strong>rings and Tympani’ with members<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Naples Philharmonic in Florida, <strong>St</strong>. Paul’s <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> (Pittsburgh), TrinityChurch (Boston), <strong>Ca<strong>the</strong>dral</strong> <strong>of</strong> Our Lady <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Angels (Los Angeles), Princeton Chapel,“Voices in <strong>the</strong> House International Music Festival” concerts at Sydney Opera House andSydney Town Hall (2007 and 2011), and “Perform in Harmony with Olympic Spirit” atForbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing, <strong>the</strong> Oriental Arts Center in Shanghai (2008), andat Vienna’s Peterskirche and Konzerthaus as featured soloist for <strong>the</strong> International HaydnFestival (2009).
