<strong>Better</strong><strong>Living</strong>Charitable FoundationLast April 2008, DMF for Seniors went through atransformation - it updated its mission statement andrenamed itself <strong>Better</strong> <strong>Living</strong> <strong>Health</strong> and CommunityServices. As the fundraising arm of <strong>Better</strong> <strong>Living</strong><strong>Health</strong> and Community Services, our namehas changed from ‘DMF for Seniors CharitableFoundation’ to <strong>Better</strong> <strong>Living</strong> Charitable Foundation.You may be wondering why this was needed. Theessential reason is we have out-grown the limitationsof our past name and now serve people and familiesbeyond Don Mills and across the city. It was necessarythat our name and image reflect that in order to gainfurther support and reach a wider audience of peoplewho may require health and community services.Charitable Foundation: New Namebeing healthy, socially engaged and enjoying life to it’sfullest. We want nothing more than to be a part of that.Thanks to our amazing supporters, the <strong>Better</strong> <strong>Living</strong>Charitable Foundation has continued to support thehighest standards of care and program delivery. Fundsraised have supported programs like TransportationServices, Respite Care, Meals on Wheels, CaregiverAssistance, Wellness Activities and our Long-Term CareHome (Thompson House).Over the next few years we have very importantprojects to tackle including the possible reconstructionof Thompson House. In the meantime the ThompsonHouse equipment and building costs are high andwe will be ramping up our fundraising initiatives tosupport the building needs and meet the long-termgoals.The words “<strong>Better</strong> <strong>Living</strong>” represent exactly what ourwish is for seniors and people living with disabilities.We hope that through our various services, your life,in some way, will be improved.
