On behalf of the St . Valentine ' s Ball Committee and all of those present
at the Ball, I would like to extend sincere thanks for the contribution
which you and the Red Thistles made to the s uccess of the Ball. The
performance of the Red Thi stles added a "touch of cl ass" which would
otherwise have been missi ng.
As I viewed the performance from the s tage, I had a vertical as well as
horizontal perspective. The covering and phrasing were just great.

Ethnic Dance Festival
The third annual San Francisco Ethnic Dance
Festival will continue at 8 o'clock Saturday night at
the Victoria Theater, and at 2 p.m. Sunday in Herbst
Theater.
Sixteen ethnic companies will participate in the
performances, including AI-Fellahin, Bagong Diwa,
Dimensions of Danc_e Theater, Fujima Rokushige
Japanese Dance, Harambee, Kalanjali Dances of India,
Khadra Dance Ensemble, Mtija Gubec, Mission
Chinese Club, Nirkoda of San Francisco, Rosa Montoya
Bailes Flamenco, Red Thistle Dancers, Sekar
Jaya, Theater Flamenco, Tiare's Polynesian Dance

they perform both Highland and Country dances.

Dance Troupe
One of the world's great Flamenco artists, .Anzonini is the
"pure Flamenco" of Gypsy Spain. With gti,itarist Keni
Parker, the dancers create an evening of true Spanish
entertainment.

Tiare's Polynesian Dance Company
Winner of the West Coast Tahiti Fete Competitions for the
past four years, Tiare's provides the beauty and excitement
of the Polynesian Islands. In a variety of dynamic
costumes the dancers present the ethnic variety of
Polynesia.

C.R. Laclzekpo' s African Dance Ensemble
Dedicated to the study, preservation and performance of
African music and dance, the African Dance Ensemble
recreates African culture with elaborate costumes,
dynamic music and spectacular dance.
