Work<strong>in</strong>gwith employer and worker representatives, it seeks toensure that those <strong>in</strong> control of workplaces adopt safework<strong>in</strong>g practices, as required by law.<strong>Water</strong>ways Ireland is a North/South body responsiblefor the management, ma<strong>in</strong>tenance, developmentand restoration of <strong>in</strong>land navigable waterways,pr<strong>in</strong>cipally for recreation purposes. <strong>The</strong> body hasits headquarters <strong>in</strong> Enniskillen, with regional offices<strong>in</strong> Scariff, Carrick-on-Shannon and Dubl<strong>in</strong>.30
