Mitford Pond at Mitford Park is stocked with trout in the summer. Children 13<br />

and under can take home a fish. Everyone else must catch and release. In winter,<br />

Mitford Pond is maintained for ice skating.<br />

Off Leash Parks<br />

<strong>Cochrane</strong> has two off leash dog parks along the beautiful Bow River:<br />

1. Along the Bow River between the bridge at the south end of River Ave and the east<br />

end of Griffin Rd, opposite Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.<br />

2. West of Hwy 22, north of George Fox Tr. Dogs can run in the 2.3 acre site accessible<br />

by following the pathway under the Hwy 22 bridge, north on the red shale pathway<br />

(NW corner of the tree nursery).<br />

<strong>Cochrane</strong> Ranch Historic Site<br />

Highway 1A, just east of Highway 22.<br />

The <strong>Cochrane</strong> Ranche Historic Site is the<br />

original site of Senator Matthew Henry<br />

<strong>Cochrane</strong>’s ranch, established in 1881. The<br />

public park is approximately 136 acres<br />

and has a washroom facility, picnic tables,<br />

outdoor stage and two fire pits.<br />

5 mins. E of <strong>Cochrane</strong> on Hwy 1A (take the<br />

Glenbow Rd exit)<br />
